CM Galactose Agar Plates minus Tryptophan are a defined agar medium formulated without tryptophan, using galactose as the primary carbon source and ammonium sulfate as the inorganic nitrogen source. The medium supports growth of tryptophan-prototrophic yeast strains, enables selection of TRP1-based auxotrophic markers, and is suitable for experiments requiring galactose-inducible expression systems.

  • 2.0% D-(+)-Galactose
  • 0.5% Ammonium Sulfate

  • Galactose-Inducible Gene Expression: Induces GAL1/GAL10 promoter-driven expression using 2.0% D-(+)-Galactose as the carbon source.

  • TRP1-Based Plasmid Selection: Selects and maintains Saccharomyces cerevisiae transformants carrying TRP1 on tryptophan dropout plates.
