Todd Hewitt Broth with 0.5% Yeast Extract is a nutrient-rich liquid medium used for the cultivation of fastidious gram-positive bacteria, including streptococci and enterococci. It is suitable for general growth, enrichment, and maintenance of cultures such as Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus agalactiae, and Streptococcus pneumoniae, and is commonly used in applications requiring robust carbohydrate and nitrogen sources.

The added yeast extract provides additional vitamins, amino acids, and growth factors. The formulation is compatible with supplementation (e.g., antibiotics or selective agents) as required by specific workflows.
