TE Buffer with 0.1 mM EDTA, pH 7.6, RNase/DNase Tested is a buffering solution for the preparation, dilution, and storage of DNA and RNA in molecular biology workflows.

The pH 7.6 buffering capacity helps maintain nucleic acid stability, and the low EDTA concentration chelates divalent cations that are cofactors for nucleases. Each lot is tested for RNase and DNase contamination.

  • 10mM Tris-HCl
  • 0.1mM Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA)
  • Nucleic Acid Storage: Long-term storage of purified DNA and RNA at neutral pH; 10 mM Tris-HCl maintains pH while 0.1 mM EDTA chelates divalent cations to inhibit nucleases.

  • Plasmid DNA Handling: Resuspension and storage of plasmid DNA isolated from Escherichia coli, preserving integrity for downstream cloning and sequencing.

  • Spin-Column Elution: Elution of DNA from purification columns to enhance stability versus water, improving recovery and shelf-life.

  • Oligo/Primer Reconstitution: Rehydration and storage of synthetic DNA oligonucleotides and primers to maintain stability and reduce nuclease activity.

  • Template Dilution: Dilution of DNA/RNA templates for PCR, qPCR, and sequencing workflows; low-EDTA (0.1 mM) minimizes metal chelation while protecting nucleic acids.

  • Amplicon Storage: Short- and medium-term storage of PCR products prior to cloning, sequencing, or library prep.

  • Nucleic Acid Quantification: Buffer for spectrophotometric and fluorometric DNA/RNA quantification to provide consistent pH and reduce degradation during measurement.

  • cDNA and Library Preservation: Storage of cDNA, sequencing libraries, and barcoded amplicons to maintain integrity before loading.

  • CRISPR Reagents: Storage of gDNA targets and guide RNA/DNA oligos to limit nuclease-mediated degradation.

  • Hybridization Probes: Reconstitution and storage of labeled DNA/RNA probes for blotting and in situ workflows, preserving probe quality.
