50 mM Sodium Carbonate Buffer, pH 9.5 is an alkaline buffering solution intended for procedures requiring stable pH near 9.5. The buffer provides carbonate-based buffering capacity suitable for assays and workflows performed under mildly alkaline conditions.

Common applications include protein adsorption to polystyrene surfaces (such as microplate coating), enzyme reactions optimized at alkaline pH (e.g., alkaline phosphatase–based assays), immunoassay plate blocking and washing steps compatible with carbonate conditions, and nucleic acid or protein blotting workflows that specify a pH ~9.5 environment.

  • 50mM Sodium Carbonate

  • ELISA Plate Coating: Commonly used as a carbonate-bicarbonate coating buffer to passively adsorb proteins/antigens onto polystyrene microplates.

  • Antibody/Antigen Immobilization: Facilitates efficient immobilization of antibodies or bacterial antigens (e.g., E. coli) onto solid surfaces at alkaline pH.

  • Alkaline Phosphatase Assays: Provides optimal alkaline conditions for AP-based enzymatic reactions and detection systems.

  • Protein Labeling (NHS-Ester Conjugation): Maintains amine deprotonation for efficient biotinylation or fluorophore labeling of proteins.

  • Anion Exchange Chromatography: Serves as a low-ionic-strength, alkaline buffer for binding and elution optimization of proteins with pI below 9.5.

  • Antigen Coating for Serology: Used to adsorb pathogen-derived antigens (e.g., Mycobacterium or Salmonella) onto plates for antibody detection assays.
