An aqueous solution of polyethylene glycol 6000 and sodium chloride supplied non-sterile for general laboratory applications. Prepared with laboratory-grade components and intended for workflows that do not require sterility unless subsequently sterilized by the user.

Commonly used as a precipitating component for proteins and filamentous bacteriophages from E. coli culture supernatants, as a reservoir or precipitant in macromolecular crystallization trials, and for controlled modulation of ionic strength and osmotic conditions in biochemical and molecular biology procedures. Filtration or other sterilization is recommended prior to use in sterile processes.

  • 20% Polyethylene Glycol 6000
  • 2.5M Sodium Chloride
  • Bacteriophage Precipitation and Concentration: PEG/NaCl-mediated precipitation of filamentous and lytic phages from culture supernatants for recovery, amplification, and titering.

  • Phage Display Workflows: Enrichment and cleanup of phage particles during library amplification, panning, and downstream analysis.

  • Viral Particle Concentration: Bulk concentration of viral vectors from cell culture media prior to purification steps.

  • Extracellular Vesicle (Exosome) Isolation: Precipitation of EVs from conditioned media for proteomic and RNA profiling.

  • Nucleic Acid Precipitation: Concentration of plasmid DNA, genomic DNA, and RNA from dilute solutions for cloning and library prep.

  • Protein Crystallography: Used as a precipitant and ionic strength modulator in crystallization screens and reservoir solutions.

  • Protein Precipitation and Crowding: Induces protein precipitation and provides molecular crowding conditions for complex formation and phase separation studies.

  • Virus-Like Particle (VLP) Recovery: Precipitation and concentration of VLPs to improve yields before chromatographic purification.
