1M Sodium Hydroxide, Endotoxin Tested is a ready-to-use alkaline solution for pH adjustment, neutralization, base-catalyzed reactions, and column resin regeneration in laboratory and bioprocess workflows.

Endotoxin content is assessed by the Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) method, with lot-specific results provided on the certificate of analysis. Endotoxins are lipopolysaccharides originating from Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli.

Store tightly closed to minimize CO2 absorption and carbonate formation. Corrosive; handle using appropriate personal protective equipment and follow institutional safety procedures.

  • 1M Sodium Hydroxide
  • pH Adjustment of Buffers and Media: Titrates solutions to target pH during preparation of biochemical buffers and cell culture media.

  • Chromatography Column/Resin Cleaning: Regenerates and sanitizes anion/cation exchange and affinity resins between runs.

  • CIP/SIP in Bioprocessing: Cleans and sanitizes tanks, tubing, and bioreactors; compatible with validated clean-in-place procedures.

  • Endotoxin Reduction/Depyrogenation: High-pH treatment for glassware and equipment to reduce endotoxin load.

  • Viral Inactivation/Bioburden Control: Utilized for high-pH inactivation steps in downstream processing workflows.

  • Alkaline Lysis for Plasmid Prep: Component of lysis solution for plasmid DNA isolation from Escherichia coli.

  • Protein/Enzyme Sample Neutralization: Rapid neutralization of acidic fractions or eluates during purification.

  • Chemical Hydrolysis/Saponification: Base-catalyzed hydrolysis of esters and amides and saponification of lipids.

  • Glassware and Surface Decontamination: Removes nucleic acids and RNases/DNases via alkaline degradation.

  • Waste Stream Neutralization: Adjusts acidic laboratory and process waste to compliant pH before disposal.

  • Endotoxin: ≤0.5EU/mL
