Glucose Solution is an aqueous carbohydrate reagent used for supplementation of microbial and mammalian cell culture media, preparation of feed solutions in bioprocess workflows, and adjustment of osmolarity in buffers. It is suitable for applications involving E. coli, Bacillus subtilis, and yeast such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, as well as general laboratory procedures including reagent preparation, fermentation studies, and analytical assays.

  • 50% (w/w) Glucose
  • Culture Media Supplementation: Added as a primary carbon source for minimal media and agar/broth formulations.

  • Fed-Batch Fermentation Feeds: Concentrated carbon feed to control growth rates and productivity in bioreactors.

  • SOC/SOB Medium Enhancement: Supplemented in SOC to improve post-transformation recovery of Escherichia coli.

  • Mammalian Cell Culture: Adjusts glucose levels in basal media and supports starvation/re-feeding experiments.

  • Yeast Cultivation: Carbon source for high-density growth and metabolic studies.

  • Analytical Standards: Preparation of calibration curves for glucose oxidase/hexokinase assays and instrument verification.

  • Osmotic Modulation: Used to adjust medium osmolarity for osmotic stress and tolerance studies.

  • Protein/Enzyme Stabilization: Sugar excipient to stabilize biomolecules during storage or lyophilization.

  • Post-Sterilization Supplementation: Aseptically added to autoclaved media to avoid glucose degradation.

  • Metabolic Flux Experiments: Precise carbon input for glycolysis and catabolite regulation studies.
