Sodium Acetate Buffer pH 5.5, Endotoxin Tested, is a defined aqueous buffering solution that maintains a stable, mildly acidic pH for routine biochemical and laboratory workflows. The pH is adjusted to 5.5 at 25 °C to support procedures requiring controlled acidity and consistent ionic conditions.

Each lot is tested for bacterial endotoxins using the Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) assay. Documentation includes lot-specific pH and endotoxin test results.

  • 20mM Glacial Acetic Acid
  • 140mM Sodium Chloride
  • DNA Precipitation: Facilitates ethanol/isopropanol precipitation of genomic and plasmid DNA from aqueous solutions.

  • RNA Precipitation: Enhances recovery and cleanup of RNA in downstream workflows.

  • Plasmid DNA Purification: Used in buffering/wash steps for plasmid prep from Escherichia coli; endotoxin-tested for transfection-grade DNA.

  • Cation-Exchange Chromatography: Serves as equilibration and elution buffer at acidic pH for protein capture and separation.

  • Heparin/Affinity Chromatography: Employed as equilibration/wash buffer for nucleic acid–binding proteins requiring moderate ionic strength.

  • Enzyme Assays: Provides stable pH 5.5 for acid-active enzymes such as acid phosphatases and glycosidases.

  • Viral Vector Processing: Sterile, endotoxin-tested buffer for AAV/LV polishing steps requiring low pH and defined salt.

  • Histone/Chromatin Workflows: Supports acid extraction and handling of DNA–protein complexes.

  • Dialysis and Buffer Exchange: Used to transition samples to pH 5.5 with physiological ionic strength.

  • Sample Storage/Resuspension: Suitable for resuspending proteins and reagents for endotoxin-sensitive applications.

  • pH: 5.50 ± 0.10
  • Endotoxin: <0.05EU/mL
