Tryptic Soy Agar Settle Plates with Lecithin and Tween-80 are pre-poured, general-purpose nutrient agar plates intended for passive air monitoring and environmental surveillance. The medium provides complex peptides from casein and soybean, sodium chloride for osmotic balance, and agar as the gelling agent.

Lecithin and polysorbate 80 are incorporated to neutralize residual disinfectants, such as quaternary ammonium compounds and phenolics, that may be present during monitoring after sanitation procedures. The formulation is suitable for recovering a broad range of aerobic microorganisms commonly assessed in controlled environments, including bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli, as well as environmental yeasts and molds.

  • 1.5% Tryptone
  • 0.5% Soytone
