100 mM Sodium Phosphate Sodium Chloride, pH 6.8 is a phosphate-buffered saline solution used to maintain near-neutral pH and physiological ionic strength in molecular biology and biochemistry workflows.

Applications include sample preparation, reagent dilution, chromatography equilibration and wash steps, and resuspension of bacterial cells such as E. coli.

For laboratory use only.

  • 100mM Sodium Phosphate
  • 150mM Sodium Chloride
  • Protein Storage and Stabilization: Maintains near-neutral pH and isotonicity for preserving protein structure during short- and mid-term storage.

  • Size-Exclusion Chromatography (SEC): Used as an isocratic mobile phase to maintain protein integrity and reduce nonspecific interactions.

  • Affinity and Ion-Exchange Chromatography: Employed for column equilibration, sample loading, and washing to provide consistent ionic strength and pH.

  • Buffer Exchange and Dialysis: Serves as a target buffer to normalize samples prior to downstream biochemical analyses.

  • ELISA and Immunoassays: Used for sample dilution and reagent preparation to ensure reproducible binding conditions.

  • Western Blot Workflows: Applied for antibody dilution and membrane washing to minimize background while preserving antigen–antibody interactions.

  • Spectrophotometry and HPLC Sample Prep: Provides a defined ionic environment for reliable absorbance and chromatographic measurements.

  • Enzyme Assays: Offers a stable near-neutral pH and ionic strength for routine biochemical activity measurements.

  • Bacterial Cell Handling: Used for resuspension and washing of cells (e.g., Escherichia coli) under isotonic conditions.

  • Tissue and Cell Sample Processing: Utilized for gentle rinsing and dilution steps where physiological ionic strength is desired.
