Teknova manufactures over 5000 different products for the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Research communities. We make products that are used in the analysis and purification of DNA, RNA, proteins as well as growth media for bacteria, yeast and mammalian cell lines. We are looking for interns to fill entry level positions in production labs, quality control, warehouse, office positions, IT, and programming. These positions are perfect for high school students who are at least 16 years of age, college students and recent graduates!

QC Associate
The Quality Control Lab Associate reports to the QC Manager and is responsible for performing the day-to-day operations of the QC laboratory; in addition, to performing carry-out method validation and other small projects.

Laboratory Technician
You will be working with a team making buffers, reagents, growth media, etc… Products are made in batches of various sizes and are monitored and adjusted for pH, conductivity, osmolarity, endotoxin, etc… following SOP’s under controlled conditions. Positions in both open Labs and Clean Room environments are available (clean room positions pay a premium). Tremendous learning and career potential. A Degree in the sciences or equivalent work experience is required.
Part-Time Assistant Scheduler
The Assistant Scheduler is a key player in the overall production ensuring that production labs are provided specific orders to ensure timeliness of customer order completion. This is an ideal position for someone who loves to organize and problem-solve to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. This position is part-time, and works closely with the Scheduler, Production Manager and Production Teams.
IT Network Technician
The IT Network Technician is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Company’s network hardware and software; installation, service, and repair existing and future technology equipment; and perform related work as required.
Custom Products Formulation Chemist
About 2/3rds of the products that we make are Custom Formulations provided by the Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies that we support. We transform their bench-top procedures and protocols into methods that can be produced on much larger scales. This requires a working knowledge of Chemistry and an understanding of how various salts and buffers behave in high concentrations, exothermic effects, etc… The position requires literature searches to evaluate competing methods and discover new ones. Good communications skills and an aptitude for working in a collaborative team environment is essential. You will be working with Teknova Product Development Scientists to test new methods and ideas and as well as communicating results with Scientists outside of Teknova in a consultative capacity. You will determine the appropriate set of QC tests that should be applied to new products and you will always be on the hunt for newer and more sensitive assays. This is a dream job for those who love to learn and explore and discover the world of chemistry and physics. A degree in the sciences and at least 3 years experience is required.
QC Associate – Product Support
The goals of the QC Associate – Product Support are to achieve high quality products on a consistent basis. This QC Associate will generate, execute and review protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This person will analyze the results of testing and determine their acceptability against predetermined criteria. This position requires adherence to strict documentation, reviews and approvals. The QC Associate – Product Support will investigate and troubleshoot problems and determine solutions or recommendations for changes, improvements, upgrading equipment and software. They will also conduct investigations on product nonconformance issues and determine root cause prior to re-work or re-make of a product. Improvement in processes will increase quality, reproducibility, decrease failure rate and redundant or unnecessary testing, reduce back-order times, improve documentation and will facilitate inter-departmental transfers of experimental data and reports.

The Quality Assurance department is looking for a Quality Assurance Associate I to support our QA Department in the development and maintenance of the Quality System. Analytical Chemist
We are seeking an experienced chemist to develop analytical methods that support production in Hollister. The position is primarily located in South San Francisco with occasional visits to Hollister. The ideal candidate is dynamic and able to perform multiple projects with limited supervision.
